The party's starting point is a critique of representative democracy as actually practiced in Austria: that elections every five years give citizens minimal real influence, and that the current system serves party machinery more than citizens.</p> <p>G!LT ran in the 2017 Austrian National Council election, receiving 0.95% of valid votes — below the 4% threshold for parliamentary representation.
