We Do Democracy
We Do Democracy is Copenhagen-based and describes itself as the Nordics' leading professional advisor on democracy and participation. The organisation designs and facilitates deliberative processes — citizens' assemblies, panels, and participatory strategy — for municipalities, political organisations, membership bodies, foundations, and businesses. Its practice is built on the premise that society's hardest challenges need more voices at the table, not fewer, and that professional facilitation infrastructure is what turns that principle from aspiration into results.
Landmark projects include Framtidspanelet — Norway's first civil-society-initiated national citizens' assembly on the use of national wealth (run jointly with SoCentral) — along with Egedal Municipality's citizens' assembly on climate adaptation (the largest Danish municipal climate deliberation), youth climate action in Vejle, and the "Grow Activists" project on volunteer organising in Nordic climate movements. The organisation also runs Nordic Deliberation (a cross-Nordic platform for deliberative practice), Democracy Fitness (civic education for everyday democratic participation), and Democratic Impact (research on what actually strengthens democracy in practice). It partners with Sitra, SoCentral, Digidem Lab, and FIDE.
