The Democracy Foundation
The Democracy Foundation is an internet project dedicated to the research and design of innovative and advanced methods of decision-making, and to their implementation via free and open-source tools. Their primary software project is Epitome, an online platform for mass deliberation and consensus decision-making that enables large groups to simultaneously communicate and develop proposals.
The organisation has been largely inactive since around 2020 (last social media posts), but their website remains live and their most widely-cited resource continues to be updated: the List of e-Voting, Deliberation, and e-Democracy Projects — a continuously-updated alphabetical catalogue of open-source voting systems, liquid democracy tools, deliberation platforms, and direct democracy organisations (last modified March 2025).
